Will the AI make up fake citations?
Every citation CLERK generates is extracted from real sources — your uploaded documents or CourtListener’s database of 400M+ court opinions. Citations include confidence scores and can be individually approved or rejected.
Is my client data safe?
Yes. Documents are encrypted at rest with AES-256-GCM. With BYOK mode, your AI queries go directly to the provider we never see them. The Private Install option means nothing ever touches our servers.
What AI models does CLERK use?
GPT-4o by default, with support for Anthropic Claude, Google Gemini, and legal-optimized embeddings from Voyage AI. You choose the provider and can switch anytime.

How long does the Private Install take to set up?
